What we cover
The full VRF / VRV lifecycle — from scheduled servicing to fit-out expansion. For warranty-period work on new installations we coordinate with the brand authorised service network; out-of-warranty work we run directly.
Scheduled servicing
Indoor unit coil clean, drain pan and pump check, filter clean or replacement, condensate line clear, control board diagnostic, refrigerant pressure verification, outdoor unit coil clean.
Refrigerant leak detection
Long-run VRF systems leak at joints over time. Electronic detector plus nitrogen pressure test pinpoints the location. We repair, recover and recharge to manufacturer-specified weight. related page.
Compressor & inverter board service
The expensive failures. VRF compressors are inverter-driven and the boards are model-specific. We diagnose properly before quoting — many "compressor failures" turn out to be board faults.
System expansion during fit-out
Adding indoor units to an existing VRF during a fit-out. We verify the outdoor unit has capacity, run new pipework, commission and re-balance the system. related page.
Commissioning new installs
Refrigerant charge by weight, nitrogen leak test, control commissioning, performance test, handover documentation.
Indoor unit replacement
Cassette, ducted or wall-mount indoor heads replaced like-for-like or upgraded where the building load has changed since the original install.
Why VRF needs specialist service
Four reasons VRF is not the same job as a residential split — and what separates a proper VRF service partner from a generic AC contractor.
Long pipe runs
A typical VRF outdoor unit serves 8 to 32 indoor units across hundreds of metres of pipework. Pressure drops, oil return and refrigerant distribution all need to be right.
Inverter-driven everything
Compressor, indoor fans and outdoor fans all run on inverters. Diagnosis needs the right meter equipment, not just a gauge set.
Brand-specific control logic
Daikin VRV control logic differs from Mitsubishi City Multi, which differs from LG Multi V. Generic AC techs can troubleshoot a split; VRF needs brand familiarity.
Refrigerant charge precision
VRF systems hold significant refrigerant. Charge must be exact. A 10% over or undercharge degrades efficiency and shortens compressor life.
Indoor / outdoor capacity match
After a fit-out, indoor capacity can exceed outdoor capability. We verify the connection ratio before adding heads, so the system does not throttle in summer.
Handover documentation
Charge weight, pressure log, connection ratio, board firmware version. Recorded so the next service engineer (us or anyone else) inherits a working baseline.
How we price VRF work
VRF is more expensive to service than a basic split but cheaper than a full chiller plant. Fixed-price written quote after a proper diagnostic.
Site survey & diagnostic
Visit, system inspection, control board read, written report. Credited against the repair or service contract if you proceed.
Service contract
Quarterly visits, agreed scope per system size, priority response on breakdowns. Quoted on system tonnage and number of indoor units — not square footage.
One-off repair
Fixed-price quote after diagnosis. Compressor and board work quoted with OEM and OEM-equivalent options where both exist.
Workmanship and material warranties
Two layers of cover on every VRF engagement. The workmanship warranty is ours; manufacturer warranties on parts pass through to you directly.
Workmanship warranty
6-month workmanship warranty — if a repair, expansion or commissioning item we performed fails within 6 months due to our work, we re-do the labour at no cost.
Warranty start date is recorded on the handover sheet alongside vacuum reading, weighed-in charge and control board log.
Material warranties
Manufacturer warranties on parts (boards, compressors, expansion valves, indoor units) pass through directly. Ranges run from 0 to 10 years depending on the component and brand. Exact terms confirmed on the written quote.
