Common cold room failures we fix on the same visit
Eight symptom patterns cover the majority of cold room call-outs in Dubai. Most are diagnosable inside 30 minutes and fixable on the first visit because we carry common compressors, fan motors and refrigerants on the van.
Cold room not holding temperature
Most common F&B emergency call. Causes range from refrigerant loss to fouled condenser to failed thermostat. Diagnosed on site and most fixes carried on the van.
Compressor short-cycling or not running
Compressor cuts in and out, overheats or refuses to start. Electrical diagnosis, capacitor and contactor check, gas-recover and compressor swap where needed.
Ice and frost build-up on evaporator
Failed defrost cycle is the usual cause — heater elements, timers or sensors. Cleared and corrected so the unit returns to normal cooling and drainage.
Warm spots or ice ring around the door
Door seal failure. Gasket replacement, hinge alignment and door-frame heater check — important on walk-in freezers where seals fail first.
Water pooling on the floor or freezing in drain
Drain line freeze-up or blocked condensate path. Drain heater repair or replacement and drain-line clearance.
Condenser fan noisy or stopped
Failed condenser fan motor — replacement carried on the van for common sizes. Restores airflow and stops the compressor overheating.
Refrigerant leak suspected
Frequent gas top-ups, oil staining at joints or a slow loss of cooling. Electronic leak detection plus UV dye, then proper repair and recharge to spec.
Display board frozen, blank or showing error
Control-board or thermostat failure. Model-specific replacement and re-commissioning.
