How much does a professional charge to put up wallpaper?
At Samra the charge is the per sqm rate multiplied by the square meters of wall you want papered, rather than a price per room, and taking off old wallpaper, where there is any, adds time, so we see the wall or photos of it before we quote. After the walls are measured, the written quote fixes the figure, and what you are quoted is what you pay.
How can I tell if a wallpaper installation price is reasonable?
Compare quotes like for like: the same unit and the same walls. One square meter is 10.76 square feet, so a rate per sq ft multiplied by 10.76 gives the rate per sqm, and a price per roll only compares once you know how many square meters one roll covers. Then check whether each quote includes taking old paper off and preparing the wall, or adds them as extras.

A 12x12 room has four 12 ft walls, 48 ft (about 14.6 m) around the room, so its installation price depends on how high the walls are. The table below applies our per sqm from-price to that room, for illustration only.

Wallpaper fixing in Dubai, step by step
A wallpaper job with Samra runs in four steps:
- Photos or a visit. WhatsApp a photo of the wall, its rough width and height, whether old wallpaper is still on it and your area; we quote from the photos where they show enough, or book a visit to measure. If you rent, Dubai's tenancy law (Law No. 26 of 2007, Article 19) says a tenant may not make changes to the property unless the landlord permits it, so check your tenancy contract and ask your landlord before a wall is papered.
- Written quote, set out line by line; when we quote from photos, most quotes come back within the same working day.
- Installation by a Samra employee, not a subcontractor.
- Walk-through and snag with you, then the 6-month workmanship warranty starts: if the same issue returns within 6 months because of our work, we fix it free of charge. It covers labour only.
Wallpaper removal before new paper or paint
Taking old wallpaper off adds time, and the quote tells you how much before work starts.
Where a wall is being painted after the paper comes off, we strip what is left, wash off the glue, prime and skim before the first coat, because glue residue left on a wall can stop a fresh coat of paint from sticking.
