AC duct installation, in plain terms

AC duct installation is the supply and fitting of the ducting that carries cooled air from a ducted unit, a fan coil unit or an air handling unit to the grilles in each room. It is the trade you need when a system is going in for the first time, when a fit-out has moved the walls, or when a new zone has to be fed from a run that was never designed to feed it.
Ducting is brand agnostic. The duct connects to whatever equipment sits on the drawing, so the badge on the unit does not change the duct scope. We install onto ducted systems, fan coil units and air handling units of any make, including Carrier, Daikin, York, Trane, Gree, Hitachi, Super General, Blue Star, Hisense, Whirlpool, SKM, Aftron, Rheem and Voltas. Capacity does change the duct. A 1 ton run and a 5 ton run are not the same duct, and the 1.5 ton and 2 ton units common in a 1 BHK apartment need a different sizing decision from the 4 ton and 5 ton systems in a villa. Three things set the price before anybody writes a number: the length and the route the duct has to take, the gauge and dimensions the static pressure demands, and how much ceiling has to come down to reach the void. What we install
A full duct installation scope — from hangers and supports through dampers and terminal units to balancing and a handover-ready commissioning report.
Everything in this list is done by the same crew, and the ducts are made in our own workshop rather than ordered from a third party. That matters most on the day the drawing and the building disagree, which on a Dubai fit-out is most days. A transition that does not fit the run as built gets re-cut the same afternoon instead of going back into somebody else's queue. Standard fabrication runs 1 to 3 working days. Two neighbouring jobs, so you land on the right one rather than the nearest one. If the ducting is already in place and sound, and the problem is dust, smell or a grille that has gone black at the edges, you want AC duct cleaning rather than installation. If the ducting exists but sits in the wrong place after a partition moved, that is duct modification and re-routing. Galvanised sheet metal ducts

Dampers, fire dampers and access doors
Volume control dampers, manual and motorised dampers, DCD-approved fire and smoke dampers, access doors at every junction and at all VCDs.
Terminal boxes and diffusers
VAV and CAV terminal boxes, diffuser plenums and grilles. Sealed to spec, ready for ceiling installation.
Sealant and DCD compliance
Foil sealant on every joint to DCD compliance. TDC and TDF connection systems for higher-pressure runs. Fire-rated assemblies where DCD requires.
Air balance and commissioning
Air balance with calibrated anemometer, damper position documentation, balancing report formatted for handover.
Insulation, terminals and the parts that get missed
Insulation is fibreglass with an aluminium foil facing on GI ductwork, or the panel itself on PI. Kingspan and Isowool are the systems most commonly specified in Dubai.
Terminals and control: supply and return grilles, linear slot diffusers, jet nozzles for high ceilings, plenum boxes behind each terminal, volume dampers for balancing, and fire dampers wherever the run crosses a compartment line.
Fire dampers are not optional and they are the item most often absent from a cheap installation. If a quote does not list them, ask why before you compare it on price.
The vapour barrier matters more here than almost anywhere. A cold duct passing through a hot Dubai ceiling void sweats at every point the barrier is broken, and the first break is usually where somebody stripped insulation back to reach a collar and never sealed the jacket over it. That is the ceiling stain reported months later as a roof leak.

When the duct workshop is in-house, installation and fabrication are one team. That changes lead time, quality control and how field-fit issues get handled.
Same-day field modification
A transition that doesn't quite fit the in-situ run gets re-cut on the spot rather than re-ordered from a third-party fabricator.
1–3 day fabrication lead time
Most Dubai contractors outsource to Al Quoz or Jebel Ali fabricators, with 7–14 day standard lead times. We do most standard scope in 1–3 days.
Single team accountable
Fabrication and install are the same crew. Joint failures and dimensional issues don't get passed between two contractors.
No middleman markup
Third-party fabricators add 15–25% over their cost. Doing it ourselves keeps that margin out of your project.

Per square metre of duct surface area for fabrication and install, plus per-unit pricing for dampers, fire dampers, access doors and terminal boxes. Fixed-price written quote against your drawings.

Questions we get asked before an AC duct installation
How long does an AC duct installation take?
It depends on the length of the run, how the ceiling is reached and whether the building limits working hours. We give the duration with the quote, after somebody has seen the route. We do not quote a duration for a ceiling nobody has opened.
Do I need the whole ceiling down?
Usually no. Access is opened where the run, the hangers and the dampers need it, and the rest stays closed. On a fit-out where the ceiling is coming down anyway, the duct goes in first fix and the programme decides the sequence, not the duct.
Can you install ducting onto a unit you did not supply?
Yes. The duct is sized to the unit's capacity and connection, not to its brand. Send a photo of the nameplate and the capacity in tons.
What is the difference between AC duct installation and AC duct cleaning?
Installation puts ducting in or replaces it. AC duct cleaning removes dust and build-up from ducting that is already sound. Different crew, different equipment, different visit.
Do you work in occupied offices and apartments?
Yes, sequenced around trading hours and the building's permitted working hours, with protection down and the ceiling opened only where the work needs it.
What happens if the drawing does not match the building?
The section gets re-made. Because fabrication is in-house, that is usually the same day rather than a new order.
