Electrical Services in Dubai
DEWA-compliant electrical services for villas, apartments and commercial units across Dubai. Our own certified electricians, 10,000+ jobs since 2019, and a fixed written quote before anyone touches a wire. Start with what you need:
Electrical emergency, right now
Sparking socket, burning smell, breaker that will not reset, power gone in half the house. The 24/7 line and what to do while you wait are on the emergency page.
EV charger installation
You own the charger, we install it. Dedicated circuit, RCBO protection, load check and handover test, for villas and, where the building allows it, apartments.
Villa rewiring
Ageing wiring, scorched outlets, a renovation with the walls already open. Full and partial rewires, quoted line by line after a walk-through.
DB board and fuse box upgrades
Old fuse boxes replaced, MCB, RCD and RCBO work, db dressing and thermal-imaged panel checks.
Lighting, chandeliers and ceiling fans
Chandelier hanging with proper anchoring, ceiling fan installation and balancing, LED conversion, downlight layouts.
Commercial: restaurants, clinics, gyms, shops, offices
Three-phase kitchen circuits, clinic-grade phasing, retail lighting, fit-out electrical packages and maintenance contracts, the commercial page speaks that language.
Sockets, switches and the small jobs
Extra sockets, switch replacements, USB outlets, isolators, cooker points. Handled on this page, scroll on, or send a photo of the job on WhatsApp.
DEWA approval and licensing, answered properly
Most electrical pages in Dubai either dodge this question or answer it in a way that falls apart when you read it twice. Here is how it actually works.
There are two kinds of electrical work in a Dubai property. Work that interfaces with DEWA's own infrastructure, load increases, supply upgrades, metering-point connections, needs DEWA licensing, and we carry it. Internal wiring, fault-finding and routine repairs inside an already-energised installation run under standard DED contractor licensing, which we also carry. Both matter, and they are not interchangeable: a company quoting a load increase on a DED licence alone should worry you.
So when you search for a DEWA approved contractor, this is the question to ask any company, ours included: approved for what? Samra carries DEWA licensing for the DEWA-facing work and DED licensing as an electrical contractor in Dubai for everything inside your installation, and your quote names which licence your job runs under. Every job, whichever side of that line it sits on, is done to code, tested before handover and documented. That is what DEWA-compliant means on this page: not a badge, a working method.
Thermal-imaged DB panel checks
Heat shows up before failure does. A thermal pass over the distribution board finds the warm terminal or overloaded way that a visual check misses.
RCD testing on every visit that opens a board
The RCD is the device that trips before a fault hurts someone. In our testing, about one in eight fails the test, installed, wired, and not actually protecting anyone. It takes minutes to find out yours works.
Electrical work we handle day to day
The dedicated pages above go deep on the big jobs. Everything below is core work this team does every week across Dubai.
Socket and switch work
New socket installation on dedicated runs, replacements for cracked or scorched units, USB outlets, cooker switches, fan isolators, fused spurs, dimmer modules, grid switches and weatherproof outdoor sockets. We supply and fit the accessory brands Dubai actually asks for, MK, Legrand, Schneider, ABB, Hager, including MK Masterseal for outdoor points, or fit the ones you have already bought. Small jobs are still tested jobs.
Fault finding and diagnostics
Intermittent trips, dead circuits, partial power loss. We trace the fault to its cause and quote the fix, not a parade of part-swapping at your expense.
Smart home and AV wiring
Home automation electrician work: smart switches, hubs, low-voltage runs and the clean routing that keeps a smart home serviceable later.
Generator and ATS interface
Changeover and automatic-transfer wiring for villas and commercial units that carry standby power.
Water heater and appliance circuits
Dedicated circuits for water heaters, ovens and other fixed appliances, protected and sized for the load they actually draw.
Something behaving strangely? Start here
Electrical repair in Dubai starts with the fault, not the invoice. Six symptoms we get called about most. If yours is on this list, say so on WhatsApp, it shortcuts the diagnosis.
Breaker that keeps tripping
A breaker that trips once is doing its job. One that trips weekly is reporting a fault, overload, a failing appliance, or moisture in a circuit. Resetting it harder is not a repair. If it will not hold at all, treat it as an emergency.
Outlet hot to the touch or scorched
Heat at a socket face means a loose termination or an overloaded run behind it. Stop using it and get it opened up.
Lights flickering or dimming under load
If lights dip when the ac or a pump starts, a connection or an undersized circuit is struggling. In older villas this is often the first sign rewiring is due.
Partial power loss in one room
One dead room with the rest of the house fine is usually a tripped RCBO, a failed junction or a broken ring. Quick to trace with the right tester.
Buzzing or humming from a switch or socket
Electrical accessories are silent when healthy. A buzz is arcing or a loose termination, small now, not later.
Tingling from a tap or appliance
Any tingle from metalwork is an earthing fault. Stop, keep everyone away from it, and call, this one is never a wait-until-the-weekend job.
Electrical fit-out for offices, clinics and shops
Samra is a fit-out contractor with its own electrical team, which changes how commercial electrical work runs: the electrical package is coordinated with the ceiling, joinery and ac trades instead of fighting them. New DB boards, lighting circuits, data containment, emergency lighting and the paperwork your building management asks for, as part of an office fit-out or as a standalone electrical package. We run electrical fit-out jobs across Dubai, from Business Bay and DIFC to Deira and Jebel Ali. The full commercial picture, restaurants and cafes, clinics, gyms, retail, offices, warehouses, and the fit-out subcontract lane, lives on the commercial electrical page.
Looking for an electrical maintenance company in Dubai?
If what you actually need is not one visit but cover, a building, a portfolio of apartments, a clinic that cannot have downtime, that is contract work, and it is what our annual maintenance contracts are built for. Electrical is included alongside ac, plumbing and general maintenance, billed quarterly, with the same on-call team covering breakdowns between scheduled visits. One number to hold, one team that already knows your DB boards.
What electrical work costs in Dubai, honestly
We quote fixed, in writing, before work starts, a photo or a short video on WhatsApp is enough for most small jobs, and bigger jobs get a site visit. Three things move the price more than anything else: access (a socket on an open wall is not a socket above a kitchen counter full of appliances), the state of the existing installation (working on a tidy DB is faster than working around forty years of add-ons), and whether the job is DEWA-facing (load increases and supply changes carry approval steps that a straight repair does not). A quote from us lists these separately so you can compare it against any other quote line by line.
How a job runs
Tell us the job
WhatsApp a photo or video with your area. Small jobs are quoted from that; anything structural gets a site visit.
Fixed written quote
Labour, materials and access on their own lines. The figure is the figure.
The work, done to code
Certified electricians, correct isolation, cable sized for the load, terminations torqued, the parts you cannot see done as carefully as the parts you can.
Test and handover
Circuits tested, RCD tripped on the tester, everything back on, and the paperwork handed over. Workmanship warranty in writing.
Frequently asked questions
Are your electricians DEWA-licensed?
For work that interfaces with DEWA's infrastructure, load increases, supply upgrades, metering-point connections, yes, we carry DEWA licensing. Internal wiring and routine repairs inside an energised installation run under our DED contractor licensing. Both are held; the licence that applies depends on the job, and we tell you which one yours falls under.
Do you take small jobs, or only big ones?
Both. A single socket replacement is a normal booking, not a favour. Small jobs are usually quoted straight from a WhatsApp photo.
Can you come today?
For genuine emergencies, sparking, burning smells, no power, the 24/7 emergency line is the right door and yes. For routine work we book the earliest slot that fits you; same-day is often possible for small jobs, and we tell you honestly when it is not.
Do you do electrical fit-out for offices and shops?
Yes, as part of a full fit-out or as a standalone electrical package, coordinated with building management requirements. See the fit-out section above.
Are you an electrical company or a fit-out company?
Both, and that is the advantage. Samra is a fit-out contractor with its own in-house electrical team, so the same electrical company that wires a full restaurant fit-out also takes your villa's socket list, and the coordination habits carry over.
Which areas do you cover?
All of Dubai. The team runs out of Business Bay, and jobs across the city, Marina to Mirdif, Deira to Dubai South, are all normal territory.
Areas we cover
Electricians across all of Dubai, including Dubai Marina, JVC, Downtown, Business Bay, Jumeirah, Arabian Ranches, Mirdif, Deira, Al Barsha and Palm Jumeirah. Full list on the areas page.
