Duct Insulation in Dubai
New duct insulation and retrofit insulation across Dubai. Fibreglass for internal runs, Armaflex and Aeroflex elastomeric for runs through unconditioned spaces, fire-rated insulation where Dubai Civil Defence requires it, foil-faced vapour barriers where condensation risk exists. In-house team, fixed-price written quotes, 6-month workmanship warranty.

AC duct insulation, and the failure it prevents
AC duct insulation is what stops a cold duct sweating in a hot ceiling void. In Dubai that is not a comfort question, it is the difference between a dry ceiling and a stained one. A chilled run passing through an unconditioned void will form condensation anywhere the vapour barrier is broken or missing, the water collects on the gypsum board above the ceiling tile, and the stain that appears weeks later gets reported as a roof leak. It is not a leak. It is the duct.
Insulation is specified against the run, the space it passes through and what the authority requires there, which is why the four types below are not interchangeable. Fibreglass, elastomeric, fire rated and acoustic each answer a different question, and getting it wrong is expensive in a way that only shows up in the second summer.
If the ducting itself needs work rather than just re-insulating, that is duct works. If it is sound and dirty, that is AC duct cleaning. New runs are on AC duct installation.

What we cover
Insulation types matched to the run, the space, and the regulatory requirement. We assess and recommend per the project drawings and use case.
Fibreglass duct insulation
Standard internal duct insulation for supply and return runs inside the conditioned envelope. Foil-faced with vapour barrier. 25mm, 38mm and 50mm thickness options. Cheapest and most common option for office and retail fit-outs.
Elastomeric (Armaflex, Aeroflex)
Closed-cell synthetic rubber for runs through unconditioned spaces — corridor plenums above false ceilings open to the sky, plant rooms, roof voids. Anti-condensation for chilled-water lines and cold duct runs. 13mm, 19mm and 25mm thickness.
Fire-rated insulation
Mineral wool fire blanket assemblies and DCD-compliant fire-rated duct cladding. Fire-stopping at penetrations through fire walls. For hotels, hospitals, multi-tenant towers and large retail where DCD requires duct runs through fire compartments to be fire-rated.
Acoustic duct lining
Sound-attenuating internal duct lining for noise-sensitive areas — boardrooms, recording studios, clinic treatment rooms, premium hotel rooms. External acoustic wrap where internal lining isn't feasible.
Retrofit insulation for existing ducts
Re-insulation of old runs where original insulation has degraded, fallen off, or wasn't suitable for the duct route. Common on 10+ year old buildings where condensation has been an ongoing complaint.
Vapour-barrier and foil-facing repair
Localised repair of damaged vapour barriers, foil facing, joint tape and seam seal. Stops condensation forming on the duct surface and dripping through ceiling tiles.
When each insulation type is right
Plain-English guide so you're not paying for fire-rated cladding when a standard fibreglass wrap is right for the run.
Fibreglass
Standard supply and return ducts inside the conditioned envelope. Cheapest, most common, suitable for most office and residential runs.
Armaflex / Aeroflex elastomeric
Any duct run through an unconditioned space — corridor plenums, plant rooms, roof voids. Stops condensation forming on the outside of the duct.
Fire-rated
Where DCD requires duct runs through fire compartments to be fire-rated. Hotels, hospitals, multi-tenant towers, large retail.
Acoustic lining
Where noise transmission through ducts is a concern — boardrooms, hospital wards, premium hotel rooms.
Insulated flexible duct and the vapour barrier at the collar
Insulated flexible duct carries its own insulation and its own outer vapour barrier, so it is easy to assume it needs nothing further. The one place it does is the collar at either end. To reach the liner and clamp it, somebody has to strip the insulation back, and unless the jacket is then sealed over the collar the vapour barrier is open at exactly the point where a cold liner meets a hot void. That is where the sweating starts, and because the collar is above the ceiling tile the water is seen long before the cause is. We seal the jacket over the collar at both ends and check it before the ceiling closes. Where a flexible run has to be replaced or re-terminated rather than re-insulated, that sits on duct installation, and the full treatment of flexible duct is on the duct works hub.
How we price duct insulation
Priced per square metre of duct surface area or per linear metre for retrofit runs. Fixed-price written quote on site survey or drawings review.
Indicative price brackets
- Fibreglass insulation: AED 35–85 per sqm of duct surface
- Elastomeric Armaflex / Aeroflex: AED 65–150 per sqm
- Fire-rated insulation cladding: AED 150–350 per sqm
- Acoustic duct lining: AED 85–180 per sqm
- Existing-duct retrofit insulation: AED 65–180 per linear metre
How to get a quote
WhatsApp drawings or photos of the duct run, the route (conditioned vs unconditioned space) and any DCD fire-compartment notes from the building. We quote within 3–5 working days.
Workmanship and material warranties
Two layers. Workmanship is ours; material warranties on the insulation systems pass through from each manufacturer.
Workmanship warranty
6-month workmanship warranty — if the insulation lifts, debonds, or fails at a joint within 6 months due to our installation, we re-do it at no cost. Covers labour only.
Material warranties
Manufacturer warranties on Armaflex, Aeroflex, mineral wool fire blankets and acoustic-lining materials pass through to you directly — typically 1 to 10 years depending on the product. We confirm exact terms for the materials used on your project before work begins.
